Perhaps the first real Swedish opera from the nineteenth Century. Quite a Mozart-inspired work showing true craftsmanship. Completed by Prince Oscar, after the death of the composer.
The singing is excellent - from both the chorus and the soloist. The diction is clear at all times. The orchestral balance is exactly right for this era. The CD itself is well produced.
