Romantic music? Well maybe this CD has several works which could be considered as very early romantic music indeed, if at all. The first two works are definitely inspired by Mozart. De Puy could perhaps be considered a Dane or a Swiss or a Swede, after all he lived a very adventurous life living in many places. Several works are now available in other recordings, for instance the fantastic the complete Drot and Marsk. Here we are definitely into romantics, what a lovely opera! Weber and Wagner perhaps has been a source of inspiration? Horneman close to Mendelssohn in style

"The performances are very much in touch with the predominantly fleet (and often Mozartian) elegance of this music and the beefy recording has an apposite weight. Recommended." - Rob Barnett, MusicWeb
