Three orchestral works with literary allusions by the brother of the well-known Xaver Scharwenka. These are pieces that show a more contemplative side than most of his brother's works, from the earily beautiful Frühlingswogen (after Turgenyev) to the delicate Liebesnacht, a theme from Tristan und Isolde.
