One of the typical qualities of Siv Wennberg, is the remarkable ease with which moves between
high and low notes, and the absence of “wobbles”. You could listen to her fabulous technic for
hours without ever tiring. One of my favorites is the Weber ocean aria, probably one of the most
demanding opera arias ever written. But also Verdi, Sibelius songs are not at all unfamiliar to
this wonderful singer. Unfortunately, she made rather few studio recordings during her most active
times so here are actual performances. The intensity of her voice is always present!

Arias and Songs with Orchestra - Songs with piano
This fifth volume in the Sterling series includes performances of famous opera arias and some rare ones. The sleepwalker scene in the Lady Macbeth includes a high D flat in pianissimo at the end, a world class performance where Siv Wennberg have few peers.
The Beethoven monumental concert aria Ah! Perfido was performed with Eliahu Inbal, an exellent conductor and the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra.
The romances with piano features five of the Rückert-lieder, the only Mahler songs Wennberg ever performed. The album ends with Rossini, La regata veneziana with its three line octave C.
A very suitable end to this album of Siv Wennberg arias and songs.
